Grandma's Thumbprint Cookies
1 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. quick oats
Beat butter, adding powdered sugar until fluffy.
Stir in vanilla, flour and salt. Blend in the oats. Dough will be real stiff.
You can add a tsp. of milk if needed.
Shape into balls and press onto cookie sheet. Press thumb in center to form a well.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Fill the center with colored frosting and sprinkles. (I use cream cheese or vanilla frosting) or you can fill with fruit spreads.
